Longinus

A bullet hell, made for the Bullet Hell Jam 2021.

Score your place in history fighting against the alien monster. Pilot the Gladius, an advanced spaceship equipped with nukes and capable of absorbing bullets.

Controls

Move with WASD or arrow keys. Your strong bullets go straight while the weak ones follow your mouse.

Focus with Left Mouse Button for precise movements (you can't shoot the strong bullets while focusing). Aim your Thrusters with Right Mouse Button (useful after using a nuke).

Press Space to launch a nuke. You will absorb bullets that hit you or your thrusters.

Meta

Sometime in the 5th millennium, amidst the mining planets usurped by the New North America and those seized by the Empire Of Asia, some european explorers find a gas planet inhabited by alien life forms. The desire to claim ownership of the newfound planet unites the European nations once again. As the aliens fiercely defend their territory, the operation Longinus is secretly launched: a fleet of highly maneuverable spaceships called Gladius, each one piloted by a single soldier craving to become the hero that defeats the monster.
